The Highland Games are returning to the Austin Celtic Festival. Games are being coordinated by Highland Games Champion, Mike Baab. The Highland Games will take place all day Saturday at the West Field A. 
 
Competition includes:

STONE THROW (56 and 28 weights)
GIANT'S HAMMER
 
STRONGMAN EVENTS:
80 lb Rock Throw!
85 block weight Throw

HURLING AND GAELIC FOOTBALL DEMONSTATIONS
 
 
 

  

In 2004 the Celtic Cowboys Sports & Social Club was initiated to provide a multi cultural sporting & social environment that promotes fun & friendship for the whole family. One of the main objectives is to create a community that participates in, & enjoys both Celtic & other cultural events.

Gaelic Football – In 2007 the Celtic Cowboys Gaelic Football team participated for the first time in the North American National Championships in Chicago. A contingent of 25 lads travelled to Chicago for the labour day weekend tournament.

Hurling – Hurling is one of the fastest and most skilful field games in the world. On various evenings or Saturdays some members of the club can be found down in Zilker park pucking the sliothar around.
